The Syrian Virtual University had the privilege of welcoming Mrs. Asmaa Al-Assad and Mrs. Samra Sezer during the historical presidential visit of the Turkish president Najdet Sezer to the Syrian Arab Republic. This visit reflects the importance accredited by the Syrian government to the development of the higher education in Syria by investing the newest techniques in education which help to enhance this vital sector.

Mrs. Al-Assad and Mrs. Sezer, accompanied by Dr. Hani Mourtada and a number of reporters, assisted a presentation held by Dr. Riad Daoudi president of the Syrian Virtual University. Dr. Daoudi surveyed the goal, programs and future plans of the SVU aiming at providing high quality education by modern means.

Mrs. Al-Assad and Mrs. Sezer also visited the university departments and ended up their visit in the telecenter where they assisted an online class and listened to the students opinions and how they interact with this modern learning concept: the online learning.
