SVU meets with 17 575 students in a national Youth Camps Tour |
During the whole month of August, SVU launched a national Awareness
Campaign in all of the Revolution Youth Camps in Syria.
The Tour was set in order to introduce the Syrian Virtual University to
potential students participating in the Camps and to determine their needs
and desires.
The encounters opened with a public presentation held by the SVU team who
then answered the different questions raised by the teenagers in a
discussion.
At the end of the meeting, a questionnaire was distributed for the
students to fill in. The objective was to gather detailed information on
the students' needs and desires concerning their studies and after they
graduate.
Mr. Waddah Sawas, President of the I.T and Media Offices in the Revolution
Youth Committee accompanied the team in most of the camps where he firmly
asserted in his speeches the importance of Education and Information
Technology in the life of the new generations while stressing on the
importance of SVU at both the national and international levels.
The tour also included visits to the Revolution Youth Organization
Computer Centers in order for SVU experts to assess the available
facilities and technical installations. These centers are to be
re-arranged (when needed) by SVU so that they all meet the international
standards required by the university for they will be part of the Syrian
SVU Telecenters.
